Soul Sistah

I’ve played at lots of large arenas before, or to sold out shows, but never before with my own band. What a feeling! I can’t describe how happy I felt that so many old and new friends came out to support me and to make this night so special. Some friends were very, very new - Gareth and Jack, for example, who I had known at that point for only a couple of weeks. And many were old friends that I had not seen in years. The club was so crowded that unfortunately some people were turned away at the door. I hope they will have other opportunities to catch the show in the future.

As a band, we were also more together and more confident. Tetsuro Aratma was my rock on the bass, getting down on the reggae and grooving on the funk. Larry Ransome dazzled on the drums, and Shinsuke Shimatani did some fine interpretation on the guitar. The ball was definitely rolling….
